Getting Christmas started
12.17.2005 11:08 PM \| Link	My flight to Oklahoma City was just fine (no winter weather), and even though the airport was packed, I enjoyed eavesdropping on a Japanese conversation and trying to figure it out. (In fact, there was a woman in front of me in the security line who didn't speak English, so she couldn't understand when the security guy was trying to tell her to put something on the scanner belt. I wanted to help, but I always forget the verb for "to put" - I can't wait until I'm confident enough to speak up in that kind of situation!) I got a good start on my Christmas eating with plenty of Mom's cookies and her fantastic salmon patties meal (my favorite), and I spent some time upgrading the Mac OS on my Dad's iBook. Then we opened a present (which we'll do every day), and watched a silly Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel (Mom can never get enough Christmas movies). All you need to know is Steve Gutenberg was the star, playing a young Santa Claus - definitely a classic! (Yes, Virginia, that was sarcasm.) I love Christmas at home! Labels: family, holidays
