This is the first of several volumes of photographs from 1955 and later, featuring amazing views of Disneyland being built. All of the photos are by a photojournalist named Mell Kilpatrick, who apparently had access to anything at the park, so he took some of the most incredible photos you'll ever see. For example, did you ever wonder what the view is from inside the clock tower on Main Street station? The aerial views are spectacular, even in black and white, because he had to take these shots by hanging off the wing of a small plane! The photos range from large panoramas to smaller detail shots, like artists painting sea-horses to go in the Submarine Voyage. There's hardly any text in the book, and the order of the photos is a bit random, but the pictures completely speak for themselves. I can't wait to dig into the next volume of history!Labels: books, disney
